Lucas, born without arms, is not only an artist, he also plays the harmonica and holds a law degree. He is from Varginha, a municipality in the southeast Brazil state of Minas Gerais.
He likes to paint landscapes, and choose free themes. In his words, when taking a photograph, he does not seek to make a copy, but to give his vision of the image with its characteristic features. “My way is messy, very free, very loose,” he says.
One of his earlier works was featured at an exhibition in his hometown.
